Raspberry

   The Raspberry has origin in the Asian continent and is increasingly known all over the world.

 

    In Europe Raspberry is highly appreciated and valued, especially in the Nordic countries, in Portugal about eighty percent of its production is exported to these countries.

 

    The Raspberry is a juicy fruit, with an acid taste, but also sweet and smooth. When ripe this fruit becomes very delicate.

Due to its flavor it is widely used for the manufacture of sweets, pies, jellies among so many other culinary and medicinal uses.

 

    There are studies that prove the properties of Raspberry, like for example  the fact that the Raspberry is favorable to combat the aging of the skin, nails and hair.

 

    It is a fruit rich in minerals, vitamin A, C, B7, Folic Acid, Potassium and Magnesium, in addition to being very rich in fiber.

 

    The Raspberry have numerous properties and benefits that should not be ignored.

 

     

Raspberry Jam

                      1 Kg Raspberries

         800 Gr Sugar

         1 Lemon

 

         Put the Raspberries in a pan with

         the sugar and  wrap.Leave to stand for

         about 45 minutes.

         Bring to a boil and add the lemon peel,

         keep on a low heat for about 50

        minutes, always stirring with a wood

         spoon, removing  the foam created

         at the surface.
         Let cool and place in sterile vials, close

         and turn the vials upside down for 2

         minutes, store in a cool dark place
